ABOUT ME

Dr. Nicole Truesdell, who also goes by Nicole Rawls, is an Anthropologist, Astrologer, and Artist. Dr. Truesdell obtained her Ph.D. in Anthropology from Michigan State University in 2011, specializing in race, racism, citizenship, and the nation-state. Previously she taught and worked at Michigan State University, The University of Bristol (UK), Beloit College and Brown University before leaving higher education in 2021 to start her own consulting and creative business.

She combines her anthropological expertise with her experiences as a former higher education administrator and professor alongside her training as a practicing western tropical astrologer to help individuals learn how to strategize WITH their dreams and sense of humanity, instead of suppressing them to be “right”. This led her to starting “Truesdell & Associates, LLC”, a Boutique Executive Strategy Firm committed to helping clients navigate times of transition(s) and chaos by centering their humanity and engaging with strategy by working with the dreamscapes via curated dream incubators. The firm works with universities, governmental and corporate organizations, and nonprofits, guiding them through the entire life cycle of programs with a focus on creating organizational structures, policies, and programs that are human centered.

As the founder of “Embodied Strategic Dreaming” she helps others break the things that do not allow us life while dreaming of other ways of living in the now through her podcast, Patreon, writings, speaking, creative projects, and active social media presence, where she discusses a wide range of topics including the concept of the human, ancestors, and society. Her multidisciplinary approach allows her to bridge the gap between academia and spirituality, offering a unique perspective that challenges existing norms and encourages individuals to imagine a world free from oppressive systems. She is currently working on her first book, “Reclaiming My Wild: A Modern Day Marronage Folktale”. Dr. Truesdell's passion lies in her commitment to social change and the belief in the transformative power of imagination and dreaming.
